You are invited to join the Owl Book Group for a great book discussion held monthly in the library's 2nd floor Lewis Community Room. Unless otherwise noted, the group typically meets on the last Friday of each month. Newcomers are always welcome! January's featured title is Lincoln in the Bardo, by George Saunders.

In his acclaimed first novel, Saunders takes the death of President Lincoln’s young son and explores the supernatural realm where Willie Lincoln finds himself. In this strange purgatory, ghosts mingle, gripe, commiserate, quarrel, and enact bizarre acts of penance. Within this transitional state—called, in the Tibetan tradition, the bardo—a monumental struggle erupts over young Willie’s soul. Saunders has invented a new experimental form of literature that deploys a kaleidoscopic, theatrical panorama of voices to ask a timeless, profound question: How do we live and love when we know that everything we love must end?
