Stop by the front desk, call 503-625-6688 or email askusSPL@wccls.org to register.

Time: 1:30-2:30 p.m.

Place: Conference Room C (upstairs)

Dates: January-April (Jan 23, Feb 27, Mar 27, Apr 24)

Winter/Spring Lineup:

January 23: Piecing Me Together, by Renee Watson

"Tired of being singled out at her mostly-white private school as someone who needs support, high school junior Jade would rather participate in the school's amazing Study Abroad program than join Women to Women, a mentorship program for at-risk girls." -- Provided by publisher

February 27: Scythe, by Neil Shusterman

"In a world where disease has been eliminated, the only way to die is to be randomly killed ('gleaned') by professional reapers ('scythes'). Two teens must compete with each other to become a scythe--a position neither of them wants. The one who becomes a scythe must kill the one who doesn't." -- Provided by publisher

March 27: Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, by Benjamin Alire Sáenz

"As two loner boys start spending time together, they discover that they share a special friendship--the kind that changes lives and lasts a lifetime. And it is through this friendship that Ari and Dante will learn the most important truths about themselves and the kind of people they want to be." -- Provided by publisher

"It's a tender, honest exploration of identity and sexuality." -- Publisher's Weekly

April 24: We Will Not Be Silent: The White Rose Student Resistance Movement That Defied Adolf Hitler, by Russell Freedman

"The true story of the White Rose, a group of students in Nazi Germany who were active undercover agents of the resistance movement against Hitler and his regime." -- Provided by publisher
