Location:Hillsboro Main Library
Tuesday, August 06, 2013
6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Join Marie Buckley for a series of Groundbreaking Writing Workshops. Breaking ground, sacred ground, common ground and more! In this series of three workshops, attendees will assemble several pieces of writing in various genres--descriptive, narrative, poetry, mini essays and letters--under the theme “Groundbreaking”. Expect prompts, examples, discussion, drafting, revising, sharing with others and positive support. Workshops will be held in the Board Room located on the newly renovated second floor of Hillsboro Main Library, a true room with a view! We'll also have fun and take at least one walk around the pond for inspiration.

This workshop series is limited to 14 people; pre-registration is required. Attendance at all three workshops is expected (7/9, 7/23 and 8/6).To register, call the Library or email Hillary Ostlund, Reader Services Librarian, at hillary.ostlund@hillsboro-oregon.gov.

Marie Buckley has been an adjunct writing instructor at Portland Community College for the past 12 years and before that she taught in the Oregon Public School system for 8 years. She is a published writer and poet and is a past president of the Oregon Poetry Association.
