This program pairs young readers with a registered Pet Partner dog-and-handler team, developing their reading skills in a non-judgmental environment.
Readers register in-advance for a 20 minute session. During the session, the child reads the book of their choice aloud to Angel, a standard poodle, in the storytime area.
The dog handler encourages the child to interact with the dog, and may offer reading help if the child requests it.
Interested readers can register by stopping by at the Service Desk in the children's area, or calling at (503) 992-3327.
